    Hey everyone! I know we always talk about paint but what does everyone like to use to detail under the hood? I really want to shine up the vette under the hood.

    For me, APC gets it all clean. Then NXT Metal Polysh on all aluminum and uncoated steel, followed by Collinite Metal Wax. Natural Shine or 303 Aerospace Protectant gets used on plastics and rubber and A6 Cleaner Wax on all painted surfaces. My Camino's certainly not as exciting to view as a 'Vette, but I still like it clean.

        Other than keeping it all clean, I use Ultimate Black and Ultimate Protectant on all the plastic, with Gold Class Quik Detailer and Quik Wax on various metal as needed. This makes all the surfaces pop!

          Thanks. Texas seems to have a monopoly on all the nice Caminos, but once in a while we manage to preserve one up North.

            I like to use APC, metal polish for any metal surface and plastic & vinyl coating on all plastics. Using this product saves me lots of time and can get into those hard to reach areas. I recommend everyone to have at least one can of it. Works well in dressing fender wells.

                  Water based dressing from the detailer line is a popular engine dressing as well along with super degreaser.

                    Yeah, I use tire foam for the applications you guys are talking about, but not under the hood - just the fender liners and suspension, etc. It's a spray petroleum which helps preserve all the rubber and plastic bits, and keeps the painted metals looking newish. I've found APC type cleaners are way too harsh and leave a flat, dry look behind, although, I've used Gunk Engine Brite in the past on older cars, but not on my current Coupe.

                        Have any1 did under the hood of a car with a hybrid motor? If so what did you use ?I see a bunch of orange don't touch when I look under the hood.

                          If you are careful not to soak the electric components I think you will be ok. I have never done a hybrid but ive done plenty of engines with no trouble.

                            After cleaning the engine and drying with a leaf blower I saturate the entire engine bay with a spray a dressing. Be sure NOT to get any on belts. This may cause the belts to slip. Once I have applied the dressing, start the engine and close the hood. Let the engine heat up and bake the dressing.
