Battery acid spill help

I have just finished polishing and waxing my car with ultimate polish and ultimate Carnubra wax. I then proceeded to top up the acid in my battery and dropped a few drops onto the paintwork, immediately I washed it off and cannot see any damage. But I have read that the acid will slowly eat into the paint is this true or by waxing and getting it straight off protected it. Any advise is much appreciated.

How old is that battery..... Come join us in the 21st century with an optima deep cycle battery. Virtually maintainance free. Sorry to here bout the accidential spill. I would think u should b in the clear but I'm just guessing here. Good luck tho
