  • 2013 Malibu 2SA mild correction

My wife's year old Malibu went through a rough Pittsburgh Winnett winter with record snow and record salt/ant-ice chemical use. It's stored outside and driven daily. She ran it through car washes over the winter to remove some of the salt build up, so it had some car wash induced streaking in the clear.

I started with the Karcher K5 power washer and chassis washing attachment to apply Chemical Guys HD Orange Degreaser, then swapped heads to the rotary chassis power washer to rinse and clean.

Next was the salty engine bay. I had a 32 oz bottle of the previously mentioned CG degreaser (mixed 50/50) that I liberally sprayed over the entire under hood area and allowed it to dwell for about 5 minutes before I used the Karcher K5 pressure washer and the soft fan spray head to rinse it down.

Then I used Gold Class car shampoo and a MF wash mitt to wash the exterior, followed by drying with waffle weave towels. Then it was pulled inside and I used Meguiars clay bar kit to go over the paint before hitting it with a Porter Cable set on 4.5 with the Meguiars polishing foam pad and Meguiars Paint Reconditioning Cream. Once this was done and wiped, I applied the final sealant of Four Star Ultimate Paint Protection.

The light tan leather was cleaned with Lexxol leather cleaner and then Meguiars Gold Class leather conditioner.

The interior plastic was all wiped down with Meguiars APC followed by Meguiars Natural Finish interior.

I never did get to the wheels and tires, 8 hours was enough! I'm hurting.

    Finished product:

This is the Karcher pressure washer with the Chassis attachment. My wife is doing the machine, I'm laying in the water taking video under the car while trying not to destroy my Note 2!

I guess I screwed up the images. I can't see them.
