  • Paint Recondition Cream then Ultimate Liquid Wax?

What is the wax/sealant applied by PRC and can I follow it up with ULW (sealant)?

I want to pull my wife's 9 month old crystal red tint coat Malibu 2SA in and use the Porter Cable to polish it up a bit and seal it, but I'm limited on time. My wife hates me taking her car away from her and wants this done fast.

Will the ULW bond or will the PRC prevent it from bonding and substantially reduce the amount of protection and time?

I've never done an Isopropyl wipe down, I assume that is done by getting drug store isopropyl and using a Microfiber that had been wetted and wipe down the finish.
Doing the best I can with what I've got.

I've never done that exact combo, but would think it should work, I've topped M66 with ULW, so a similar process and it worked fine. You get the polishing aspect of the AIO, two coats of wax, and the ULW as your top and most important coat. I've never heard of ULW bonding on top of PRC.

As for the IPA wipe down, you'd want isopropyl alcohol (the stuff from a drug store) diluted down to about 10-15% (it's usually sold at 70-90%, so a little math is involved, although I remember reading a great post on autogeek that Mike Phillips did for figuring out exactly how to make the dilution you want). The drawback to using the IPA after the PRC is that you'd strip the wax off and only have one coat of wax. Good luck with it!

PRC will last about 2-3 months in the protection department, but will take out defects like no other AIO. It is pad dependent, meaning you can use it with a cutting, polishing or finishing pad depending on what you are trying to accomplish. It doesn't have along working time and you have to let it dry to a haze and then remove. I would go D151 and then remove/top with D156.

You shouldn't apply D151 and then remove immediately, like a polish or compound. If you are going to do a 2 step then go with Megs UP and then Megs ULW. Also you don't do an IPA wipe down after or before using D151.

I would wash, clay, UP then ULW or wash, clay, D151, remove with D156.
