I recently had my truck re painted (last fall). Washed it this spring and was not too happy with all the little rust spots and pits on the chrome rocker panels. Body shop must have used cheap ones. Anyway, I tried some chrome polish on the drivers side door chrome rocker and it left some pretty good swirl marks. Not terribly noticeable but it bothers me. Anyway to get rid of these swirl marks or am I screwed? I have looked around and can't get too many firm answers on what to use or try. Thanks in advance.

Re: getting rid of swirl marks on chrome
You would need something milder than the product you initially used (you didn't tell us what that was).
I would suggest a product like SwirlX, ScratchX or Ultimate Compound. <-- Try test spots in that order..Originally posted by BluelineI own a silver vehicle and a black vehicle owns me. The black one demands attention, washing, detailing, waxing and an occasional dinner out at a nice restaurant. The silver one demands nothing and it looks just fine. I think the black vehicle is taking advantage of me, and the silver car is more my style. We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

Yes, the SwirlX is the least abrasive and UC is the most abrasive out of those three..Originally posted by BluelineI own a silver vehicle and a black vehicle owns me. Re: getting rid of swirl marks on chrome
Given that you said the Cleaner Wax somewhat helped, I would say the SwirlX or ScratchX should do it. Unfortunately it's hard to know for sure until you do a test spot.Originally posted by BluelineI own a silver vehicle and a black vehicle owns me.
