  • Which backing plate to use.

Hi, First post and maybe a daft question but here goes. I have a Meguiars g220v2(g110v2) on its way to me that I won on ebay. Listed as used once, like new. It has micro fiber pads (5" I think) with 2 cutting and 2 finishing but no backing plate. Question is if I get a W67da backing plate can I also use foam pads with it as well. Or is it a case of the right plate for the right pad.
    Thanks

Unfortunately you can not. That backing plate is specifically for the microfiber pads. You will need a W68DA backing plate for foam pad use.

Ok Thanks. I'll get the MF plate then maybe a 4"plate with foams for smaller areas and for doing motorcycles.

yes the 67 will work with all 6" pads, foam and MF. But you'll need the 5" BP for the 5" pads

Yes, the W67DA is what you need, it will work with any pad as long as the velcro is the proper size. The backing plate measures 4-13/16" and I've used it with Lake Country/Buff N Shine 5.5" pads.

The W68DA measures 5-15/16" and perfect fit on Megs 7" Soft Buff 2.0 foam or any 6"+ pad.

I wouldn't recommend the W67DA on 6"+ pad since there would be too much over hang. The outer edge of the pad would be pretty much useless.

I agree, this is the correct information.
