Hello All. I don't post a lot because the search function usually answers my question but I just purchased a 2014 GMC Sierra. They replaced the really nice fender well plastic inner liners with a new system that has what I describe as liner with a short nap like carpet feel kind of material. Not sure that's the best description maybe someone can chime in and explain it better. Nonetheless, I will try to wash with my wash mitt and soap but anyone else seen this new liner system and have suggestions of how to keep it looking clean and new?? Thanks in advance

Re: Cleaning Wheel Wells 2014 GMC
A strong rinse with a garden hose or light pressure washing will rinse out all of the dirt and debris. The carpeting holds a lot.Nick

I use Hyper dressing on them to keep them black and not let then "dry out".
I've been doing this since they came out and I've had no problems with my way of taking care of them.

Re: Cleaning Wheel Wells 2014 GMC
Chrysler has gone from the plastic wheel wells to this "carpet" type. As a matter of fact, the Chrysler 300 has this material covering almost the entire undercarriage. Probably for noise abatement. Anyway as Please Wash Me says, brushing (lightly until I figure what his stuff is) and not using your car mitt, is a good solution. Not sure about the Hyper Dressing.....who knows what this "carpet" made of. It is 'kinda' like black astro turf, with a short nap.

Re: Cleaning Wheel Wells 2014 GMC
This carpeting for fender wells seems to be the way everyone is going. Road noise reduction seems to be a logical reason as to why and also maybe it won't get destroyed from rocks flinging into it and maybe it's cheaper for the auto manufacturers too. Wouldn't you think hyper dressing would just soak into it and not do much in the way of appearance? I don't mean to clomp on Please Wash Me and his suggestion. He is very knowledgable and helpful but to me using a dressing on carpeting might not do much. I could be completely wrong and am totally wiling to accept that though.

"Of course it is not household carpet, but advising people to apply something you have no clue what it is, is dangerous. I used to think you were a professional but you just want things to look nice."
Wow!...I may not always agree with Please Wash Me, but I agree with him here. There is no way Hyper Dressing will hurt the "carpet", and isn't our job to make things look nice? The argument could be made, after all, that polishing paint is bad for a vehicle since it will lead to reduced paint thickness and protection.Brandon

I know my job, very well. These WW are a covering that is like a carpet, made from nylon. HD won't hurt then in any way.
Don't insult me I've detailed millions upon millions of dollars worth of cars, planes, RV, boats and motor cycles.
