Re: Meg's Cut and Finish one stepper
OK, just looking at the front label on this tells us this is a very old product. I had to do some research on this and here's what I discovered:
Cut N Finish dates back to the early/mid 1990s and was a very short lived product. We actually developed this specifically for BMW to use in their factories so we find it quite odd that this bottle has turned up in India. 20 years later!!! Yes, this product in this bottle is that old - we stopped making it way back then!
While the formulation, specifically the abrasive technology, is vastly different from M86 So1o, the concept is quite similar. Cut N Finish was designed to be used on a rotary buffer with wool for the initial cut and then, as the abrasives broke down, a switch to foam for finishing. Hence the name, Cut N Finish.
As for this tidbit of information:

Re: Meg's Cut and Finish one stepper
From the description (on the first picture) it looks like SR-0601 is similar to M86. Unfortunately I'm not familiar with SR-0601 but M86 uses the newest technology - super micro abrasives.

Interesting. Do you have a pic of the label at the front of the bottle?

Re: Meg's Cut and Finish one stepper
Did you mean Meguiar's So1o M86 Cut & Polish Cream ?
There are also other similar products as well: D151 Paint Reconditioning Cream and M83 Dual Action Cleaner Polish.

Meg's Cut and Finish one stepper
Hi all,
I had a chance of working Meg's Cut and finish - One stepper. Used with CG orange heavy cutting pad in RP and finished with M205.
The results were awesome in a single pass of Cut and Finish. It removed all swirls and minor scratches. I was searching more info about the product, but not able to get it. May I know what is the combination pads works fine for this and more info about the product.
Thanks in advance.Tags: None
