  • Help with rubber mats

OK, I have tried literally all Megs dressings and can't find anything that doesn't leave slick feeling rubber mats. I've tried Hyper dressing down to 24:1 and even that gets slippery when wet. I'm kinda stumped...
Interior QD will clean them all right, but not much for any kind of shine, just very dull and blah. Any thoughts / suggestions? Much appreciated!!

Really? You think a dressing will not be slick?
They all do it and if it doesn't then it's not a dressing.
it's a floor mat it isn't suppose to be shiny and slick it's suppose to be mat and grabby.

Dress them then wipe them off with an APC to get rid of the excess on the surface. I've been doing this to mats for over 40 years

I'll give that a try. And I know they should not be slick, just trying to keep the customers happy ( and safe ). I've had complaints that they weren't dressed and looked dull. Want to get the best of both. Thanks...

0000000 it's for customers. Tell them to stick it!. Dressing floor mats to a shine is EXTREMELY DANGEROUS!!!!! Tell them that!

So defiantly wipe with an APC to get rid of the danger.
I tell them what I do to there mats and they are thankfully that I "did something" to there mats and made them safe too. I also do this to running boards.

This is good to know PWMD. I have been trying everything for a couple of years now and I never thought of that. last time I did my running boards on my F 150 I sprayed the with Chemical Guys black on black. They were still slippery but now as much.

I just purchased a second hand vehicle from a local new car dealer, in the final prep the guy must of used an entire bottle of armorall on the mats and even the steering wheel. I fell out the first time from slipping and it takes everything I have to hold the wheel at times. There are certain things that just a little hot water is all you need..

              Re: Help with rubber mats

I've been meaning to try M57 from the marine line on floor mats.

It's meant for boat interiors and is formulated to be less slippery than M40. You don't want to sliding all over the place in a wet boat.

If that's still not right and I have to remove it before using the mats, I'm guessing that even after scrubbing with APC the rubber will probably look better than if I had only washed them.

                  Re: Help with rubber mats

I use the Interior Detailer to CLEAN my Husky Liners. I would never want to DRESS floor mats. That is just asking for trouble.

I don't think I'd call it a tip quite yet since I haven't actually tried it.

                    More of a hopeful experiment.
