In theory it creates a "safer" way to clean. I don't buy it. waste of time and money.
If you use proper technique you'll be fine.
Although they are great when doing a RV.

Well, it is just different, not necessarily better or worse.

I like to be able to add extra soap (lubrication) to the surface easily when I feel like more is needed with the foam gun. I also like that I can cover the whole panel in soap, to make sure there is lubrication everywhere, and not just running off right away.

But, those are really just personal opinions. It is not like the dirt magically flies off the paint or something from using a foam gun.

"the dirt magicly flys off the paint"

Now if we can make this product, I'd buy that!

Foam gun is good to loosen the grim/dirt/caked dirt. Once it got loosened, you can safely remove those without marring the surface. So, its good when your car is so dirty. Otherwise, you can go for normal TBM.

If you are going to do full detailing, then foam wash -> TBM -> detailing process.

I see a place for foam guns on truly filthy cars. I feel on cars that are frequently washed/waxed, 95% of the dirt comes off with a strong rinse of water before using the 2 bucket method, therefore making the foam gun largely redundant.

Some people will put foam on the car, and then 2 bucket wash.

I use the foam gun like it was my soapy water bucket, washing a panel at a time like usual.
