Re: How durable is black wax?
Durability is on par with our Gold Class Carnauba Plus. Since it's a carnauba wax it won't be as durable as a full synthetic like Ultimate or NXT, but it's so easy to use and leaves such a great finish on black paint that using it every couple of months, even on a vehicle the size of a RAM, shouldn't be all that much work. The results should be well worth the small effort.Michael Stoops

Re: How durable is black wax?
I love collinite waxes, but 6 months? Sure, collinte waxes 845, 476s and 915 have legendary durability, but same goes with any other wax and sealant. It will all depend on prep, proper car care techniques and environmental conditions. It's not a rip-off or a fraud, but there are SO MANY factors to a product's durability.
As for the shine? My experience tells me that Megs waxes all things equal can easily match or even outshine collinite waxes. One example is when I used 476s or even 845 and had the chance to compare it with NXT 2.0, in my eyes at least, the collinites have a brighter look to it, even the 915. 915 and 476s is very close in terms of shine and depth, with the 915 having a slight edge in depth, 476s having a slight edge in durability. But both have a very similar shine to it. I used it on a variety of colors, and on black and in terms of looks/optics, NXT 2.0 does have an edge in terms of depth. Durability, I still say Collinites win, but not by a huge margin.
One of the best waxes I've used on black paint or at least best in looks, is the "cheaper" Deep Crystal Carnauba wax, or even Mothers Reflections Top Coat, layered on top of NXT 2.0, I hope my feedback helped, and I hope you didn't find my excessively long comment boring...

Re: How durable is black wax?
I haven't used the Black Wax yet, still working on bottles of other products. As a cleaner wax, it will not be as durable as a synthetic wax and/or sealant. Although, it will be more durable than Meguiar's (red bottle) Cleaner Wax. I give my vehicles a good (clay bar, polish and synthetic wax) detailing in the Spring, and use a dedicated AIO wax 3 additional times in a 12 month period.
