  • Problem on paint

    Hello to all,

I took today some picture to show you what I see on the hood , after claying and washing my father's entire car.
I washed with NXT then I used turtle clay kit.
As I remember, until clay the car, I didn't saw these spots or I don't know how to name them, my father also doesn't remember if these were there until to clay it.
As I read on the box of turtle wax clay kit is not an abrasive claybar, I didn't work aggressively, I just let the clay to glide on the paint after a good lubrification.
If you think it's from claybar I think I will go to kill myself cause I don't understand why...
Also these " spots" are mostly on the hood not on the entire car.
What do you think they are? spots / scratches cause of the claybar ?
    Thanks guys.

    Re: Problem on paint

You may have accidentally picked up some dirt along the way or the microfiber towel used to wipe off excess clay lube. Generally, consumer level clay is quite user friendly and mild. Usually, consumer level clay rarely causes problems. Anyway, since the paint has been damaged, you can just scratchX2.0 to remove the scratches, if the scratches remain, move up to Ultimate Compound. Just apply either of them, work it in until most of it is gone, apply polish (optional) then wax/sealant.

This I will do, It's possible cause I really use a lot of clay lube. I try first with scratch, if not I go to UC.
      Thank you for your advice.

can't really see what your talking about.
In the first pic it looks like you have clear coat failure.
You didn't do any damage with the clay.

        Most likely it this:
The paint is now clean and you can see the defects in the paint now.
        This happens all the time.
You have no idea what the paint looks like until you clean it.
