About a month ago I noticed that the hood of my 2001 F-250 had what looked (at first) like some hard-water spots. We had just been hit with some serious rainstorms in the high desert of California and there were flooded roads I had to traverse to get home so I thought it was just the mud and gunk from that.
After a couple of days I noticed that it was the clear coat blistering and peeling. So far it looks like it's confined to the hood (where there were some previous scratches from parking too close to a low hanging branch of a tree on a windy day
).
I've resigned myself to having to have the hood repainted, but my concern is the rest of my truck
. Is there anything I can do to protect the clear coat on the rest of my truck or is it doomed?
