  • New to DA polishing - which of these products can I use?

I am planning on buying a DA polisher in the next few days. Below is a picture of what I'm trying to correct. Will any of the products I already own work with the DA polisher to remove these scratches? Also I plan to fill in the missing paint with some touch up paint, and then hope I can do something with the DA polisher to blend it all together.

Maybe they aren't the best choice, but will it hurt to try them? (such as the NuFinish scratch doctor or the Blue Coral Scratch Treatment).

I am getting the car ready for sale and want to make it look a little nicer than it looks currently. Thanks for the help.

throw everything away but the Meg's stuff.
Your going to need some compound to remove those defects.
Ultimate Line is your best choice for this job.

Those scratches look pretty bad, and none of the products you show are all that aggressive - not a great combo for correction. But, since you just want to clean the finish up a bit before selling the car, you should probably give one of the NuFinish products a go first. The Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner you have is more of a chemical cleaner and likely won't do much to reduce the appearance of those scratches. If you can't get any satisfaction from the mix you have here, pick up some of our Ultimate Compound at your local auto parts store, Walmart, Target, etc and give that a go. Again, due to the severity of those scratches don't expect full correction, but you should greatly improve the appearance.

Thanks for the replies. I would need to follow the Ultimate Compound with something, right? Because according to this, it's fairly aggressive: http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/...prise-you.html

Do you think the two scratch products are milder or more aggressive than
Ultimate Compound? If they are more mild then I could use them after the Ultimate Compound?

With Meguiars products, it would usually be something like UC, then Ult. Polish, SwirlX, or#205, then wax.

If you didn't want to buy anything new, I would guess Nu Finish (regular one) to follow up.

I don't work with the Deep Crystal line too much, but UC (Ultimate Compound) is more aggressive (and better) than any of those other options. It would most likely need to be followed with something, and I would suggest an AIO (all-in-one) wax if your just looking to clean it up and sell it. Meguiars Cleaner Wax (bottle looks the same as those you posted) would probably be a great option to follow the UC with and it provides a great look and is super easy to apply. If you can't find that, ColorX would be another good option to follow the UC with. Good luck getting it ready to sell and selling it!!

the order of paint correction is:

              Wet Sanding
              Compound
              Polish
              Wax
