  • How to find a good deatailer?

Sorry if this is in the wrong section, i wasn't sure where to put it.

I have only recently started learning about paint care and have a 2001 camry that i would like to get the paint cleaned up and see what can be done with it. I don't have a machine or the expertise to undertake this job, so i want to get it professionally done, then i can maintain it. My issue is trying to find a good place to have it done. None of the places near me have any reviews or ways to verify they know what they are doing. I live in Monroe Michigan, which lies about halfway between toledo and detroit, about 30 mins from each. Does anyone know anyway to find a good place to have this done in the area?

I'd recommend checking places like Yelp, Angie's List, or Google's review thing (sorry forgot the exact name); that's how new customers almost always find me. If you've already exhausted all of these options and there's no detailers with good reviews, then the market for it there must not be too strong. Which is possible.

After that, you might have to start doing some legwork and look for reviews in person. A good place to start might be car shows. A lot of guys that have cars in these shows do all there work themselves (and unfortunately sometimes it shows), but there are usually some who hire a professional to get there car in top shape before the season begins, or before a specific show. Just go to one and start talking. It's a little 'old fashioned' but these guys with cars in shows usually love talking about their cars and would probably give a good recommendation. Just make sure not to ask the guy that's got holograms all over his hood. Lol

Another group of people to ask is real estate agents. They usually want clean cars and often hire detailers. However, many of these are more interested in clean interiors, but you might find a good lead.

    Good luck with it!!
