I would just like to add that I too use Natural Shine on Honda Element exterior side panels, and it does an excellent job providing a deep sheen (not shine) with no streaking.
I have the Elements older brother, the CR-V with plenty of gray plastic along the side and bumpers and the absolute best thing I put on there was #38 Tire & Trim Dressing. We tried the consumer version but it easily washed off. Even after some rain and a complete wash it's still on and makes the '97 CR-V look like new. Even when I waxed the car it didn't stick to the plastic, just wiped it off. Don't know much about UV protection but my CR-V is almost 9 years old and parked outside.

I have used a lot of #38; it is an awesome product. Just make sure to apply it, leave it sit for a few minutes and then wipe off thoroughly.
