  • Scrtaches behind door handles???!?!?1 What to use

Anyone have any luck on removing the scratches behind door handles? The correction I'm doing in a couple weeks has them pretty bad. I didn't tell him I could get em out, but will try. any suggestions? I'll try a foam pad with M105 and try to, but not sure I can make any progress with a hand application, since I can't get a good surface contact, other than with finger tips.

That is an area that does seem to respond well to hand application... I guess just the size/shape of the area, and how easy it is to press and move quickly.

I Use Ultimate polish to remove those. In most cases the marks are left by fingernails, in some cases gloves. Try a foam pad while lifting the handle pull at the same time. Be careful as to support the door while rubbing as not to spring the door.

I have used ScratchX or M105 with a terry cloth towel and it works well. Have used it with a foam pad and that works well too.

UP won't touch em. I can tell you that. They are pretty intense. The ole scoop your hand under as you pull to open door, lol. I've got all those products, so I'll start with the least agg. first and see what does it. I'm not going to spend a lot of time, since the main goal is the entire car is swirled. You know he just bought it 2 weeks ago and didn't notice it. Hmmm can you say DISO!?! He's not as particular about under the handles, it was a, if you can, type of deal. I'll definately try though after I get the main car done, sice that'll take me plenty of time.

Also I don't have any MF pads, I have only foam, I'll try to locate some. I've never had luck finding any around town for some reason. Everyone carries foam pads.

Anywho thanks to all of you responding!?

oh and what about removing scratches from under door handles? I just noticed I spelled it wrong in the heading, lol. Fast typer not paying attention to my spelling.

try going to wal mart for some microfiber pads. I seem to have the opposite problem, can't find foam pads anywhere, can't swing a dead cat without hitting at least 8000 microfiber pads!

I've been there as well. No go. Maybe I'll try a different one, like one of our newer super walmarts here.

Do you have a Mills Fleet Farm there? It might be a more of a local thing though

                      Just use a MF towel.
                      No need for a pad.
Every detail I do I use 105 and a mft.
I go around the car and rub out those little scratches/paint transfers and door handels.

I bought some MF pads at 99 cent store before. They even have super size hand pads there. I think they were like a 3 pack for a dollar. Hope that helps
