  • sealants in winter weather

Does anyone know how snow and ice affects synthetic wax? Does it break the coating down or reduce its longevity?

Assuming that it was applied correctly in warmer conditions a couple weeks before the winter weather.

    Thanks

Well, the worse the conditions it is in, the sooner it will wear away.

I know one thing I applied Meguiars carnuba wax before winter and its still beading up. Of course I did spray some UQD a few weeks ago. But still beading up.

snow and ice is still water. So you shouldn't get any different results of it breaking down. I'd be more concerned about how your washing your car as harsh detergents will degrade it more then snow/ice.

Don't forget about salt on the roads, that can really wear your sealant down to nothing very quickly
