  • Black Motorcycle - Products & what order?

    Hi guys!
    I just bought my dreambike a CBR 1000RR 08.
Its really nice in the paint, got some small scratches that has come from when washing the bike.

I really want to know how to maintain the bike for a mirror like finish of the paint and need some advice on what products to use and what order to use them in.
I will be working for hand.

As its black, small scratches will come easy, specially on the areas where the knees touches the tank.

Is it ok to start with washing the bike, then add rubbing, polish then wax everytime there is small scratches or swirls?

Im a noob, so all advice is extreamly welcome!

    heres my beauty!

Well, anything painted gloss black you could use something like Ult. Polish then Wax for regular detailing. A stronger product like Ult. Compound could be used for scratches.

The black plastic areas could be done with a dressing, like Ult. Protectant.

Cant tell if those silver pieces have a gloss clearcoat on them... could be treated the same as the black paint if so.

    No tire dressing.

Some people like to use a rinsless wash, or spray wash type product rather than a traditional car wash type of thing all the time, up to you what seemes easiest.

A lot of your basic swirls would come from bad washing, so be sure to use good quality soap, mitts, towels, etc.
