  • Luggage Rack Cleaning and Finishing

On my '05 RX330 the luggage rack is a combination of plastic and painted black metal. I have fairly good success using Ultimate Black on the plastic but on the painted metal I don't know what to use. Anyone have any suggestions? I have been using Simple Green as my cleaner with mixed results. Any suggestions on that also? Thanks!

What sort of paint is it? Like smooth glossy, or textured, flat, etc?

You can use a mild paint cleaner like SwirlX on the painted bits, to shine them up a bit, then apply your favourite wax...

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

Could I substitute Meguiar's Cleaner Wax for the SwirlX product? I don't currently have SwirlX. And thank you for your input davey g-force!!

Do we want the matte black paint to be shiny? If it is not supposed to be shiny, you wont want to wax it.

By "flat black", I didn't think the OP meant matte. Probably just needs to clarify...

On the Flat Black, maybe a more diluted all season dressing or some meguiar's natural shine protectant.
