  • Wax in Summer heat

    Hi All
I have heard that waxes can melt and run in High temperatures, I have never really thought abut this happening and would like everyones input. In Australia it can easily get to 40 Degrees C in the summer and am wondering what I can do to give my paint some extra protection. (I have to park in full sun at work) I have only just started detailing my car so any advice would be great, So far I have got the clay kit, ultimate compound, and the deep crystal polish and wax.
I am very happy with the results so far and want to keep it looking good.

A wax will degrade faster in harsher conditions.

But you will not end up with a pool of wax on the floor around your car.

Ult. Wax would be the most durable wax so far. Using the pure polish is good to moisturize the paint.

A good thing to add is a spray wax like the Ult. Quick Wax to use after washes, or while drying. That will boost the life of the main coat of wax a bit.

And something with UV protection, and/or sun shade for the interior.

OK will have to have a look at the ultimate wax, and the spray too.
This hobby is starting to get expensive, but enjoyable.
Would it be the ultimate protectant that would have the most uv block? I use a sun shade whenever its not raining to keep the interior a little cooler and protected, its amazing how quickly the shades fade and split during our summers.

Well, you could use your current wax, with the Ult. Spray wax still.

Ult. Protectant would be most durable, as far as staying on the surface. Not sure which would have the most UV.
