having trouble removing polish

Hi there I have been out of detailing for a while 6 years But I have started up again, and I am using meguires for all my work. I am having some trouble removing #9 swirl free polish. I use a w9000 pad to apply it and after a few passes the pad starts to grab quite hard. I ease up a little on the pressure but it still is a little graby? Then when I go to remove it it just wipes around and takes a lot of time to get the surface clear of polish. I use a little final inspection to help out on the surface. I need some help! The customer says he had applied some gold class wax about a month ago, but wanted a polish and wax. The paint was not to bad a few swirls and spider webs. 1998 GMC truck Dark green. I must be doing something wrong if you can help that would be great!

When the product you are working with starts to gum up as you have described, it can mean that you are either not using enough product, the pad is caked, or the surface is too hot. #9 can be very tricky, but this sounds like you are not using enough product. You should prime the pad with either a QD or simply make and "X" with the polish on the pad. After the pad is primed, the chance of the product gumming up will diminish. You may want to look into getting some #80 Speed Glaze, it is a very user-friendly polish and leaves a better finish than #9 IMO.
