  • Another "Getting Started" Question

Here's what I have. A 2012 Red Dodge Charger with one small spot of holograms "presumably where I used UC to try and remove water spots", a few straight line scratchs (micro), and a good number of water spots. The car is in really good shape for the most part but I'd like it better.

Here is what I have : UC, Swirl X, UP. I will shortly have a DA Meguiars polisher, 2.0 pads and the microfiber correction kit with its compound and finishing wax. Here are the questions.

    1) Should I use the products that come with the Microfiber kit to work on defects or use the UC and UP?

2)Is there a risk at using one of the products listed making things worse?

    3) Should I start with microfiber or 2.0 pads?

    Thanks for all the help!

Doesnt sound like the MF kit is really needed for this car.

Just start with the UC/SwirlX and the foam polishing pads.

      1) Only if needed. Remember - least agressive product/method first. Do a test spot with UC first - that should be all that is needed.
      2) Not really, unless you do something silly.
      3) See 1) above.

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

Received the DA polisher today. Thinking of trying the yellow 2.0 pad with UP this weekend. You guys think I'll touch anything ...kind of wanted to stay least aggressive to start.

Ehh.. maybe not... but wont hurt to use it on a fender or something first, just to get your feel for things.
