  • What products to pick up

    Heres my car.
    99 Audi A4 Quattro
    I have the following already
    - Meguiars Deep Crystal Wash
    - Meguirs Ultimate Quik Wax
    - Stoner Invisible Glass
    - crappy armor all tire and wheel cleaner.

The sun was coming down so I couldn't get the pictures of swirls very well but my hood, roof and trunk have a decent amount of swirls.
I know theres no way for my car to be defect free without investing serious money from a professional or body shop but I wanna get the car looking as best I can. Since I started using the meguiars ultimate quick wax my car has maintained a clean look much longer than it previously did using other waxes which is makes me happy.

The biggest problem with my car which you can see in the pictures is light dusting over it. I live on a dirt/rock road so it inevitably gets dirty over night I found that using UQW works pretty better than other stuff I've tried in preventing dust build up but still leaves me hanging after a couple days.

close up shot of driver door panel. The previous owner left me with a couple scratches around it.. picture doesn't show

the driver side door area has a few scratches I couldn't pick up on camera

Picture of the hood. Yes its a band-aid sticker and yes it covers up a terrible scratch that is deep and I highly doubt I could remove. It feels very rough and its quite noticable. The sticker doesn't bother me so dont hate!

close up of the hood area near grille, I have the grille painted black with plasti dip but I never did the edges so you might still see some chrome, not a defect just never bothered waiting to buy a rs4 grille. Seems I got a decent amount of rock chips although that big white spot between the headlight and grille I easily just got off with a MF towel. The car is a little dirty

lower bumper area, more rock chips my car was daily driven by the previous owner on pretty much all highway miles.

these black pillars are very scratched up when the sunlight is shinning on them, is it the same as cleaning/waxing a car to remove them?

a very close up shot of my hood

rear bumper, my mom tapped it awhile back at about 5-10 mph. I'm sure this area really can't be fixed to much unless I get a professional right?

A scuff type mark on my roof almost right in the middle of the picture.. I put a text book on my car one day when I was getting out of my car for school.. guess sliding it off left a scuff. Whenever i apply fresh wax its hardly noticeable for a couple days but eventually wears off.

I am planning on getting a claykit from meguiars, will it be aggressive enough for a 1999 car that has never been clayed?
Planning on Ultimate Compound by hand, what type of foam applicator pad would I get at lets say walmart?
    Do I need polish?

    Any tips?

    thanks guys

Re: What products to pick up

Clay kit is definitely a must. Ultimate COmpound is strong, you may want to do a test spot before doing the entire car. With foam applicators, the meguiar's applicators are sufficient.

For correcting by hand, you want to set aside at least an entire day for optimum results and work in sections if using any of meguiar's cleaners or polishes.

Other options for cleaning and correcting is swirlX or ultimate polish, or if you want a one step/all in one product, you can go the ColorX (a cleaner wax which is stronger than the cleaner wax from meguiars) and follow it up with a finishing wax/last step product like Gold Class Carnauba plus/NXT 2.0/ultimate wax and maintain with gold class or Ultimate quik detailer and Ultimate quik wax/ gold class quick wax. And let's not forget the ultimate wash and wax anywhere
