What to use or need?

Hi all, this is my first post. I have been working on my 2005 Chevy truck with the Silver Birch color. I have been trying some different products that i have gotten over the years. Here's what I have in the Meguiar's line, Mirror Glaze 83, Swirl remover 2.0 9, Mirror Glaze 80, Hi-tech wax 26, Show Glaze 7, Cleaner Wax, NXT Speed Detail, NXT Spray Wax, and NXT Tech Wax, ScratchX 2.0. Also have Farcela G10 Extra Fine Finishing, and Presta Ultra Cutting Creame. Also have several other in the marine line.

I'm not sure what pads to use and do I have more then what I need, or missing something? I used my PC7424 and a orange pad with the G10. It looks good, has a few scratch's, and some scratch's in the fiberglass bed cover that I didn't get out, but I'm ready for wax. What would you suggest? Also is the NXT Tech Wax the same as the NXT Tech Wax 2.0?

Well, im assuming the orange pad is a lake country pad? I would have just used orange pad with 205 or ultimate compound. then if scratches are still there that are too deep id apply the glaze since that hides scratches and follow up with nxt.

You've got some interesting overlap with many of these products, and that's fine. It's interesting that you have some Farecla and Presta products because we normally see these just in body shop environments. The Presta product you have is primarily a rotary use product designed to remove fairly aggressive sanding marks with a wool cutting pad. It tends to generate a fair bit of dust, but that's pretty common with very aggressive compounds - M105 can dust quite a bit, too, but tends to finish out far, far nicer than Presta Ultra Cutting Creame which tends to hologram quite badly. We'd stay away from this product on a DA though, due to it's overall makeup. Other than that product, the most aggressive liquid you have would seem to be M83, which is sort of an old school diminishing abrasive product.

You say you used the orange LC pad with the G10 which, honestly, is a bit of an odd combo - that's a fairly aggressive pad used with a very mild product. You would have gotten better results, and most likely removed the last of those fine scratches, had you used M83 with that pad instead. And really, using Ultimate Compound would have gotten probably even better results, and certainly faster, than even M83. That's down to the advanced SMAT abrasives found in Ultimate Compound. You could then have followed with the G10 or even M80 Speed Glaze on a less aggressive pad, like the LC white or green. If your paint isn't terribly hard and you maintain it well, you should be able to get away with just M80 as a routine maintenance product, using either the orange or white pad. That last option will vary depending on the hardness of the paint, the severity of the defects, and your skill with the buffer.

As for your wax, NXT Tech Wax is the original version of this product, but it has been dramatically updated with NXT Tech Wax 2.0 which was introduced about 5 or 6 years ago.

Really, he only has one true glaze: M07 Show Car Glaze. M80 Speed Glaze and M83 Dual Action Cleaner Polish are both cleaner/polishes with light to moderate defect removal ability. The Farecla G10 is likewise a very fine finishing polish. Perhaps it's his reference to "Mirror Glaze" that's throwing you, but that designation is essentially our Mirror Glaze sub brand that encompasses all of our pro line products.

The reason I have some many is because I thought it would work on my old 1991 truck with alot of swirl mark, and not knowing better, and purchased local to try. The brand of pads I'm not sure of, bought a kit several years ago. The Farecla G10 was purchased local also and suggest by a body shop. The Presta Ultra Cutting Creame was given to me by my local body shop to try on my fiberglass Bass boat,with a rotary buffer, and it worked great.
I have another 6.5" Pad kit ordered, the LC brand, Just need to learn what pad to use with what. Do you suggest I update to a newer wax? I've wasted money buying products to try and not know even if they work, hopelful I will learn what to get.
I've used Meguiar's Products for a few years and use them in about all of my cleaning.

I have the flat pad kit coming, with Yellow, Orange, White, Black, Blue, and the CSC fine Green pad. I have my wife's Suv to do. (No wax in over a year). After Washing and Claying, With what I have above what would you suggest and with what pad?

I haven't figured out how to edit yet. I was wrong on the above pad color's. The color's are
Orange, White, Grey, Blue, Tangerine, Crimson, and the CSC Fine Green.
