Thanks Mike and Davey for your input!

I'm definitely looking forward to that TNOG session!!! WOOT! A personal tutorial from Mike?!

Yeah I would like to know the threshold between when to use a QD and UWWA.

Sometimes even a lot of dust or pollen, but fresh, will just brush/wipe off with a little QD on the MF.... but a little bit that is stubborn would require you working MF into the paint more, and so more risk.

Very light dust (including pollen), California Duster only or QD only. Light to medium dust, California Duster, sweeping in one direction only (not back and forth or in circles), the tips of the duster strands hanging down straight barely touching the paint, followed by QD. Medium to heavy dust, duster followed by UWWA. Heavy dust, hose or garden sprayer rinse, then UWWA. Heavy dirt, sand, mud, road film, other stuff stuck onto the paint, hose rinse then two bucket wash.

Starting off with clean and waxed paint and clean and Brake Dust Barrier protected wheels, I can easily maintain the ol' daily driver five or six months without a traditional hose and soap wash just by using either a duster or QD or both, and UWWA as necessary. Renew the Brake Dust Barrier as necessary and take off bird bombs as soon as you see them.

The Brake Dust Barrier is easy to apply and makes it easy to maintain the wheels for quite a while with just QD and a microfiber. The UWWA lays down a "sacrificial barrier" of "wax" that prolongs the life of your regular, two or three times a year clay and wax.

How about leaf blower? I mean blow away most of the dust, then QD. My $0.02.
