Will post up pics soon, my wife currently has the car on the road...
Basics:
Purchased the car a few weeks ago from Philadelphia (sight unseen), looked great in the pics, but after picking it up, the paint is not so good...
There are some oxidation in the paint and to make matters worse, the idiots that marketed the car for sale appear to have used some boston green paint for touch ups in many areas. Those of you familiar with BMW color schemes know that boston is a bluish-green color vs. the deep fern green which is closer to a traditional hunter green. I would like to restore the cars finish as much as possible, but am not sure where to start? Should the boston green paint be wet sanded as a first step?
I have a griots garage random orbital and some ultimate compound that I was going to start with after a wash and clay. I would guess that BMW paint is considered "harder" than some and would do well with the ultimate compound, correct me if I am wrong...
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
