  • Hail = My Worst Enemy

So to end my decent spring break, i am sitting inside minding my own business watching tv and i start hearing some racket in the backyard. Terribly confused, i look out the back window to see hail hitting my bbq pit. First thought that crosses my mind is my baby. I rush to get my car cover for at least some kind of protection and throw it on the car. Needless to say, the hail won the battle in the end.

Now i am left with a trunk that looks like a 6 year old jumped all over it. I suppose i can be thankful that only the trunk was damaged (how i dont know). Its a 99 Honda Prelude. The trunk doesnt have the lights attached to it like some of the other Honda models like some of the accords. This being said, would it be more logical to have someone work some magic on it for no telling how much or to just buy a new trunk lid? I dont know how much either really costs. Also, how noticeable will it be for the difference in paint color between a new trunk lid and the rest of the paint on the car. The paint color is silver so i dont know how this fades over time compared to other colors.

I'm still dieing over here though. I have virtually no shade until late in the evening and that usually barely gives me enough time to wash the car and dry it. Although, i was able to do interior (nothing special, just vacuuming this time) and give the car a decent wash with a couple extras for tires, wheels, etc. Not really extra, just saying i was able to finish it still managing to have plenty of light outside due to the wonderful daylight savings time. Anyways, my car is in DIRE NEED of a wax since it has been so long. Maybe i can convince my dad to wax my car with me as a birthday gift for my upcoming birthday (April 16th so all of yall can send me some wonderful Meguiars products =P ) if i can manage to get a trip back to San Antonio in order. Thinking about that, we bought a DAPC right before i left to college and i have yet to get any benefit from it. I think that will be in order.

Anyways, sorry i have been a stranger to the forum. Its hard to keep up when i cant keep up with my own car myself.

PS Anyone live in the Bryan/College Station, TX area?

You may be able to find someone who does paintless dent repair and charges a per panel fee. If the dents are of manageable size, this is an option.
