  • Glaze + Wax questions !!!

Okay so I got some Glaze 7 and Wax 26,could you please tell me the advantages of applying the glaze topping with wax ? Or just the wax would suffice ? Also these can be applied with a DA,which speed is recommended ? This is for a Black Acura.

    Thanks

The glaze (applied at a speed of 3-4) will add gloss and depth to the paint. A very beneficial step that also leaves the surface in the best possible condition for wax to bond to (provided you have clayed). In other words, your wax will be most effective in terms of durability if you polish first. Apply wax at a speed from 1-3.

You can also just wax if you want. If you feel your paint already looks glossy, just wax and you'll still be good to go.

What are you using for polish and glaze? Quite often they are the same thing, so kind of repeating yoruself.

Looks like a great process to me , especially on dark colors. Polish normally has some cutting value ( M205 or Ultimate Polish ) important step for the mirror like finish , M07 is just pure polish with no cutting property, in my opinion this will give you the ( one up detail ) . Use a finishing pad and remember, less is more. You apply like a wax ( quickly ), no need to linger, apply and wipe while still wet. The clarity will be very noticable. Then wax and let dry.

Re: Glaze + Wax questions !!!

#7 before waxing will add even more depth, clarity and make black cars look even darker. It will even add a more crisp shine, with m07 you will notice that after applying it the paint will feel just "a bit tacky" as if telling you that it's waiting for the wax to be applied. It does seem to make the wax adhere to the paint better than an un-glazed paint. When removing it, try not to remove all of it in 1 pass of the microfiber. Try removing it in "layers" meaning initially remove the M07, then go back at it with a new microfiber (if possible) and remove the rest with the final pass.
