  • What would make me want to use #21 instead of NXT, or...?

Or instead of #20, or MPPP, or New Gold Class? I have a sample of it, and I'd like a reason other than curiosity (which is a plenty good reason all by itself).

I want to use it on the satin white pearl Legacy; that's one of those "eggshell" looking whites.

My understanding of these things is,

NXT for longest lasting protection and maximum jetting.

#20 for the best water resistance, and superior reflection.

GC for most natural color, great depth, and good protection (new formula GC has addressed all the shortcomings of the previous GC, folks).

MPPP for... I dunno any more. What IS MPPP for? Maybe I should ask that in a separate thread?

#21? I read the reviews, but what's the COMPANY line? If I want something that will look great and last long, on new, swirl free satin pearl white, what would that be?

I'm slowly but surely working on giving stuff away, btw. The first one to PM me with an address will get one of my bottles of MPPP. It's great stuff, especially when the price is right.

MPPP for anti-static properties. This is handy if you live or drive in dusty areas.

#21 for rotary use and ease of removal! #21 for combining the features of #20 and NXT Tech Wax Liquid. #21 for depth and reflectivity. #21 for those who detail many vehicles and need to be "super-sized" by Meguiar's.

      Hey Tom,

      Great question!

As you know, each product provides a unique look. Sometimes this look is very subtle; other times, it really stands out. What I like about #21 is that it provides the depth, and warmth of NXT as well as the super reflective properties of #20. It is these properties that give it a unique look. Now, will some people see this difference? Probably not. But I bet you would be able to! And whether that look is what you are after will only be determined by you and your eyes.

Me...I love the look that #21 provides!

Here's the text from the Meg's website:

It feeds and conditions paint to reveal pure, deep color with unsurpassed brilliance and clarity. Medallion Premium Paint Protection's exclusive bonding system provides long lasting protection.
I think this came out in the early 90's or so? Is that right? At the time, I don't believe there was any Gold Class, though I imagine #20 existed (did it?)

I like MPPP, it's easy to use, lasts well, and gives a nice subtle clean look, not unlike a wax. It's a good solid product, and the one I typically recommend to people who ask, but like you I just don't find any use for it...

              Tom,

One other thing about the #21 that kind of "peaked my interest" was the fact that Tim was able to apply the #21 with a rotary without any problems. That could very well allow the user to "squeeze" just a bit more "liquid" look out of the finish.

              Just a thought...

That's an interesting possibility. Would that be due to the heat generated by the rotary?

Yes, that's true. #20 existed back in the 80s and MPPP came to market about 1992. I remembered the first time I tired #20. It was a real PITA to remove! But durability was great even back in the original version!
