  • Meguiars Abilities/Results

    Hi everyone,

I have been on the forum now for about a month. During this time, being anewbie, I have posted alot of questions? ALOT of questions? Also during thistime I have mentioned my love for the Meguiars products I have been using, andhow well they had been performing on my car. This was all without any resultsphotos. Finally I was able to get some back from walmart.

I have mentioned my car is a 1996 Forest Green Honda Civic with it's original16 year old paint job on it. The paint has some rust spots and even a few holesabove the tires along with some paint chipping. I wanted to see what Meguiarscould do with what salvageable paint I had left. I don't have a DA so I used myhands and the 5 step method to try to bring that paint back to life. This iswhat I used on car:

    1. Wash --- Deep Crystal Car Wash
    2. Clean --- Clay/Ultimate Compound
    3. Polish --- Ultimate Polish
    4. Wax --- Ultimate Liquid Wax
    5. Wax --- Ultimate Liquid Wax

    Endurance Tire Gel
    Ultimate Black For Exterior Trim

Looks pretty darn good! It's probably in better shape than when it rolled off the line!

That Honda may be 16 years old but you've got better reflections there, with clearer and glossier paint, than most cars that are far, far newer do. Nice work!

Car Potential, LOL, that's funny. I got a story about that. I bought the car from my uncle. For about 13 years he towed his pontoon boat, and camper, around on that 4cyl civic engine.
The Manual transmission has never been changed at 280,000 miles. I told him he should have been doing Commercials for civic's towing capacity.lol. Thanks for the comments dude!

No problem man, glad to help! And I kinda skipped a lot of the intro at first (went right to the pics) and then went back and read everything. You worked by hand... That car came out realll nice, I would've thought you used a DA if I didn't read your post! Great job!

                    OUTSTANDING!!!!

Doing all that by hand is a true workout, my hat is off to you big time.

Now, you gotta get a DA...

I was scared when I first used it too. It's pretty easy to learn.

The D/A is very easy to learn and very user friendly. Dont be afraid of it.

dont mess with me........j/k.....I have not used a d/a either since my paint is in great shape and I'm fine with working by hand. Luckily I do have the luxury of attending a Meguiars saturday class since I am close by so then maybe I will feel confident to use a d/a. But I have gotten great results working by hand using UC, M06, M07 and M26 so I'm still trying to decide when I would really need a d/a.
