  • DA mircofiber & white paint

I have light swirls in 2008 Jeep with white paint, read a few articles of how difficult it is to work with. Any feedback with the DA microfiber system would be helpful. I'm comfortable with various power tools, so if another method is better I am open to it. Has I the sun was setting and I turned back to see if I had locked the Jeep the swirls could be seen 75 feet away, in public no less! Thanks

Not a problem, the DA is a great system. Make sure to read the intro articles about it & watch the demonstration of how to use it. Our '05 white metallic Sienna wasn't taken care of for a year & the DA system turned it into a jewel.

Works great on white. Get a swirlfinder as well. I just used the MF system on my white VW. Wow.

Don't necessarily take what you read about working on a certain make and model as gospel - we've seen waaaaay too many cases where paint that is supposedly crazy hard was anything but on the car we were working on, or paint that was alleged to be very soft ended being incredibly hard.

One of the few constants here is that single stage white is almost always crazy hard since the pigment used is titanium dioxide. And when that paint gets really old it tends to get harder. But you're working on a 2008 Jeep, so you're not working on the white titanium dioxide pigmented color coat, but rather the clear coat on top of it. And since most Chrysler Corp vehicles we've worked on have had pretty straightforward paint, we don't anticipate your Jeep being extremely hard to deal with. But.......(and there's always a but!), you won't know for sure until you start working on it. Which is why we always recommend doing a test spot first.

Thanks Mike, greatly appreciate your knowledge. Being in the electrical field, electricity seems like magic, but it really comes down to science. I've been more than impressed with Meguiars products being new to the science of detailing. I will certainly will give feedback on the DA mircofiber system.
