Hey guys, noobie here looking for an answer about Ultimate Compound. I just bought a black 2012 mustang gt that had faint scratches around the door scoop area and used ultimate compound with a microfiber pad to try to clean the area up. The scratches were removed and looked fine but when direct sunlight hits it you can tell where I obviously rubbed as compared to the rest of the finish. I tried using Ultimate Polish to try to clear it up but to no avail. The average onlooker wouldn't pay it no mind but it bothers the **** out of me. Did I rub too hard or something or can this issue be fixed? I'd just like to have a perfect even finish that'll turn heads. Any advice would be great. Thanks.

A picture would help out a lot imo. So the UC clouded your paint? And you tried UP but it did not clear it up? You may want to try using SwirlX as it has been known to clean up after UC quite well.
Or,
The UC and UP cleaned the paint really well, and now that spot you just did is actually clearer and glossier than the rest of the car.Always searching for the best....Keep it country!

Well in that case, try what RPPM said. You may have been too agressive along with the microfiber pad, which is agressive in itself. You may have "hologramed" the paint so to speak. Maybe marred your paint with your fingers.Always searching for the best....Keep it country!
