Re: Longest Detail?

Sorry davey-g-force I did not get back to this thread and have just noticed your reply.
Here are some before / during / after photos.
The WHOLE car was covered in these deep swirls / scratches and it took me over 100 hours in the end to get it probably about 98% right.
Now to keep it like this............[IMG]url=http://www.meguiarsonline.com/forums/photopost/showphoto.php/photo/58592/title/img-03482/cat/500][/IMG]

    Rear quarter panel before:-

Same panel only a little bit more of a close up:-

    50/50 shot of boot lid:-

    Another 50/50 boot lid shot:-

Reflection shot of bonnet after correction:-

    And the finished product:-

      Great work and nice car!

I have been looking at Optimas lately for our daily / wife's car. Although I won't be getting black. One black car in the family is enough! lol

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

        Re: Longest Detail?

Thanks - this is my first black car.
I was warned by others but did not take any notice. Looks great when clean but........
I must admit it has become an obsession to get/keep it looking nice. Have spent WAY too much money but still looking at spending more.
Now looking at a water filter as suggested by member Top Gear to add onto the hose to prevent watermarks but its a bit hard to justify $100 just to prevent a few spots.

The Optima is a great car but if you are a tall person (6'1" +) and get the platinum version with the moon roof you may hit your head on the moon roof frame like I do occasionally

          Re: Longest Detail?

Spent 7 hours doing my small sport-compact by hand.
Looked absolutely amazing afterwards but pretty sure I gained arthritis in my shoulder not long after lol

            Re: Longest Detail?

I started when I bought my car a month ago and I am still going.... Does that count?

I have some swirl marks on the hood that I am going to work out when my pads arrive.
