  • What media to use on windows

What is your opinion? Some say to use news paper others say micro fiber towels. I am currently using invisible glass as there are no meg's window products in my area. I use micro fiber and or old towels. I have problems getting them crystal clear (this is on the inside). In certain lighting or angles you will see a haze. Your comments and suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thank you

Old bathroom hand towels work good for me. Make sure you don't wash them with fabric softeners

I seem to do ok with the Target Vroom brand MF towels. I've never liked those dedicated window MF towels as much.

I think if you have a heavy haze, you may want to do a couple applications. The first one could be heavier, but I try not to use too much cleaner on the last pass if I am doing more than one.

I used Invisible Glass, and many other products, all with varying success. I read somewhere of someone using just a warm, wet, water only microfiber cloth (no store bought window cleaner) and then dry with a microfiber cloth. It is the best process I have ever used. Being a non smoker, and never letting my interior windows get too dirty, not sure if this simple water and towel would do the trick for heavy dirt buildup. I have used newspaper on house glass and that was just nasty. A squeegee is unsurpassed on flat glass.

Just a precaution: don't use Windex or anything with ammonia on the inside of tinted windows; I use distilled water. Newspaper will make more of a mess than what you started with. Make sure your cleaning/drying towels are clean before you begin.

I use perfect clarity with a megs SS towel. I'm not sure why many use old towels on windows, my windows don't collect much dirt/dust at all. I have never liked the idea of using newspaper on my glass because I would not rub wood on my glass. Newspaper is just thinly sliced wood, similarly to a paper towel.

i would agree to not use newspaper. you usually have ink residue and other dirt on your fingers after reading it, so why smear that on your windows?

I really like using the Buff and Shine Microfiber Glass towel. They work pretty darn well.

I once put swirls in my paint just to see what it looked like.

                I don't always detail cars, but when I do, I prefer Meguiar's.
                Remove swirls my friends.
