  • Brake Dust

After a mild winter I prepared our WHITE Jeep for wash, wax etc and found small rust marks (just like a tick in our area) attached to the lower panels. I carefully clayed the affected areas and successfully finished detailing the vehicle. Is there any sealant or protectant for the paint to impede the dust from sticking or should I concentrate on ceramic brake pads and covers?

Thanks to Meguiar's products my children will never know the hardships of keeping a vehicle like new.

    to MOL!

IMO, there's no product that will prevent some brake particles from sticking to your paint.

In order to reduce the chances of it sticking, regular washing and maintenance is key. Wash your car every week and it will help.

Just as Marc suggested, the key is to not give things the time they need to fully bond. That said, keep a solid coat of wax on the car is certainly better than nothing. I find that washing a waxed vehicle results in anything coming off MUCH easier, reducing the chance of bonding and swirls.

Yhat's one reason I love boosting my protection with Ultimate Quik Wax after every wash, too.

^^^ I agree with Mark as well. Keeping your car waxed regularly helps to clean it off easier. Case in point, I washed my car 2 weekends ago (wheels/tires, washing the body, rinsing, flooding, blow dry and used UQW as I made my final drying pass) in 45 minutes. The flooding will not happen if your car isn't waxed. Also, it'll be a lot harder to wash off the dirt on your paint if your car is not waxed. More so if you let it sit longer.

Regular maintenance is easy maintenance. (I think I read/heard that somewhere)
