What's the best method of cleaning clay? How long would a bar last?

You cant clean clay.

You just refold it to get a clean area. Then, when the folds seem to just bring up more dirt, it is time to throw away, used for wheels, etc.

Therefore my first use was on customer's car not my own.

They're not so bad. Down pressure controls aggressiveness. One side has a special polymer wall which picks up contaminants and they get rinsed off in a water bucket. However on delicate paint systems Magna Sponge may cause some marring.

It should be good for up to 5 cars before it becomes loaded up, depends also on how contaminated the car/s are. Best to use it on your wheels/windshields if it gets too dirty
