  • Which Wheel Cleaner?

    Hey guys,

Which cleaner would you recommend for these OEM Silverado rims? I'm not sure if the All Wheel Cleaner or the Aluminum Wheel Cleaner is the way to go. Don't want to stain them or strip anything off by possibly using something that's not recommended. Here's a picture of the rims that's on my truck.

    Thanks for your input everyone!

I like the Aluminum Wheel Wash. Its a bit milder than the All Wheel, but if you are keeping after them, mild is good.

Just remember to spay on, agitate, and rinse off. Dont want to the cleaner sit.

I personally use Meguiars Wheel Brightener on my 3 vehicle's OEM wheels
Spray on WB for 45 seconds and then hose off....ocassionally I use APC+ and agitate with a wheel brush.
Great results, but then again I wash quite often....very interested in seeing how well WB works on neglected wheels.

Regular soap and water with agitation works great for a well maintained wheel. I say clean them up and put a nice coat of Ultimate Wax or Brake Dust barrier. I only use wheel cleaner for caked on baked on stuff.

Soap, water, and a variety of wheel brushes is typically enough to get the job done on maintained wheels.

try to stay away from the acids
Im still waiting for the day when Meg's releases a nonacid based cleaner

Yea...I was kinda concerned about WB as well, but used correctly & carefully it works pretty well
I think for my needs, the recommended dilution ratio may be too strong....I may try it at 10:1 instead of 4:1.

I'm pretty sure since my wheels are soo "clean" I can pretty much get away with plain-o car wash like GC or Hyper wash....but I have a gallon of WB

                Malco

Malco makes a very good non acid wheel and tire cleaner
Even the best cars look like junk when they are not clean
