Car washing basics?

Hi all,

I'm writing a how-to for how to properly wash your car. Since this is a topic familiar to me, it should be no problem writing.

I would just like to reinforce the stressed basics-

is there any issue about washing your car if it has a clearcoat or not? How can you tell if it has a clearcoat? (or does it even matter?)

difference in Meg's products versus others (What makes Meg's special?)

drying with microfibers, etc
