If your '06 is that bad, then M205 is probably not strong enough to do much. But by all means do so, even just to get a feel for M205 and your new DA!

Thanks for th input. My '06 Accord is in dire need of an extreme makeover, I'll try out the M205 on it before moving on to the '12.

First off, congrats on the new car!

Second, DC Paint Cleaner has been discontinued so you can cross that off your list. Honda paint tends to range from fairly soft to just wonderfully workable. If the paint is currently in very good shape now and you're now using a G110v2 instead of doing it all by hand, give this a go:

    1. wash/dry as usual
    2. clay as needed'
3a. M205 on W8207 polishing pad with moderate to heavy pressure at speed 4 - 5 (this should remove even moderate swirls - if the car needs serious attention step up to Ultimate Compound)
3b. M205 on W9207 finishing pad with moderate to light pressure at speed 3 - 4 (this should do wonders for light duty paint cleaning and really add a lot of clarity to the finish, making the metallic sparkle like crazy - this may also be the only paint cleaning step you need to do on a routine basis if you're really picky about your washing, drying and maintaining processes)
    4. Ultimate Wax to finish it off.

Now, keep in mind that steps 3a & 3b are predicated on the results of a test spot first. We haven't worked on this exact car so we can't say with 100% accuracy how anything is going to work on it, but from a historical perspective it's what we'd reach for first.

And welcome to the world of machine polishing!!!

    3. No need for the DC cleaner.
    4. Ultimate Polish is also a good option.. maybe even better.
    5. 2 thin coats of wax.

    6. Maintain - Ult. Quick Wax or Gold Class Quick Wax after future washes.

    Wanting to change my detail

For the last 6 years my detail regimen has been as follows with amazing results:
    1. Wash
    2. Clay
    3. DC Paint Cleaner
    4. DC polish
    5. #26 Hi-Tech Yellow Wax
All applied by hand on a burgandy '06 Honda Accord.

With the purchase of a new '12 Accord in Crystal Black Pearl and some new products being released by Meguiars I would like to change things up a bit.
    My thoughts are
    1. Wash
    2. Clay
    3. DC Paint Cleaner
    4. #205 Ultra Finishing Polish
    5. #26 Hi-Tech Yellow Wax or #21 Synthetic Sealant 2.0
All would be applied by Meguiars DA. I am wanting to keep the car swirl free right from the get go and give the car a nice deep look to it.
Any and all opinions would be greatly appreciated!
