  • New to Detailing - Full kit given

    hey Guys,
I was just given a full car cleaning kit by a friend of mine as a sort of early wedding gift. The reason was that I had been making murmurs about wanting to detail our wedding cars (They all belong to mates)
So he gave me this massive meguiars Kit.
I'll put a list of everthing he gave me. I have tried to put it into order of what I think you would use where and perhaps even what order it might be used.
Hopefully you guys can give me some advice on where/how/and what order to use this stuff.

So you know the wedding cars are

    1956 Ford Zephyr Mk2 - Warrick Green

On the two Zephyrs the paint job is original so I want to be really careful not to mess that up. I would also like to do what ever I can to make the colour as vibrant as I can.

    Thanks in advance

What condition are the cars in?

    1. Wash: Well, pretty straight forward there. Be sure to use two buckets.
    2. Clay
    3. Clean: Deep Crystal Cleaner would be the mildest cleaner there. Although depending on condition, SwirlX isnt too much stronger when used by hand, and would help with some more dirt grime, maybe some swirls.
    4. Polish: Single Stage paint will certainly want to have the Deep Crystal Polish used on it.
    5. Wax
    6. Wax - two thin coats are best.

    7. Maintain - You could get some Ult. Quick Wax for after future washes. And the UQD would be good for a wedding day wipe down. The UQD is for light dust only of course, but I imagine these cars arent out in the weather.

Wheels: The metal polish would be for bare metal wheels/trim, nothing coated. The Chrome Polish and All Metal Polish are a bit redundant, but be sure the Chrome stays only on chrome.

Interior: When applying the Leather Conditioner, and Nxt Tech Protectant, I like to apply, let it sit for a few minutes, then come back and buff off excess. Esp for the Tech Protectant. To be honest, I might look around for the Supreme or Natural Shine, they wont leave a greasy residue. Nxt can leave a bit of one. Or even some Quick Interior Detailer. You could use the Nxt a few days before, and then give a dusting with the QID to remove any last minute residue.
