Best tips for black truck

Hi there,
I am new to this forum. Have used Meguiar's products before but want to know if these would be the best steps for a black 2006 dodge ram truck.

1. Wash - Gold class car wash shampoo & conditioner
2. Clay bar - Smooth surface clay kit
3. ColorX
4. Ultimate Polish OR Deep crystal system polish ?
5. Gold Class Carnauba Plus Premium Wax OR Ultimate Liquid Wax ?

I want to get a deep, wet show room shine to my black truck.

Thanks for any help.

Welcome to MOL!
As far as I know there is no product that will give you what you want.it takes lot's of prep work to accomplish that. My suggestion would be to get yourself G110v2 and some pads or maybe Megs Microfiber System.By hand it's almost next to impossible to accomplish.

that much square footage with a modern paint you will need a buffer

You would want to do either:
1. Wash
2. Clay
3. ColorX
4. Wax

or:
1. Wash
2. Clay
3. Clean - Ult Polish for mild, Ultimate Compound for stronger cleaning
4. Polish - Optional, esp after the Ult. Polish. But #7 or DC Polish could be used.
4. Wax
5. Wax

If your truck is in good shape, working by hand isnt so bad. If you have a lot of swirls to fix up, yeah, a machine will be good.

But you can certainly shine it up the first time, and see how it looks, and get a better idea what you are working with.

For the BEST results...you will need to get a Dual Action polisher. My truck is a 1999. I could never get the results I was looking for by hand. Bought a Porter Cable 7336SP and the Megs pads and backing plate and it was the best money I have ever spent!!!!
