I am planning to detail a '92 White Jetta that is in decent shape considering the age but has not had anything special done to it other than the regular waxing with things like Turtle Wax liquid and Meguiars's Cleaner/Wax. The paint is really dirty. It seems to have dirt trapped under the wax and I tried using a prewax cleaner on a small spot and it really cleaned it up pretty nice. My plan was to wash and clay then apply MPPC. I also picked up some #26 Paste at Autozone at 4.99 a can. My question is what to use between the MPPC and the #26. There seems to be a lot of choices between various polishes, glazes, sealants, etc.BTW, I am doing this job by hand since I don't have any power polishers. Sorry for the length of this but I'd really appreciate some advice.

Hi:
Since you are working by hand I would take a look at DC2 or #81 Hand Polish. Either will do a good job on white.
I would do a small test area to see how this white paint is going to respond to a polish. Dark colors respond better to a polish than white.
From your description the MPPC will probably make a big difference.

Yeah, confusion can heppen... the good news is that Meguiars products work well together. It is important to use them as instructed, but as long as you do, all will work together.
I think DC#2 is sometimes regarded as easier to use by hand, but both are good, and will work great with your claying/cleaning/polishing/waxing steps.2017 Subaru WRX Premium - WR Blue
