Do you think a foam gun. One that goes on a hose not a pressure washer. Helps to minimize scratches when washing

I like mine, and I like being able to easily get more soap on the surface. And I think the soap spreads across the surface pretty well. Since a good soap acts as a lubricant, that should be a good thing.

I have some water spots I need to fix up, but dont seem to pick up many swirls.

Of course you still want a good rinse bucket with Grit guard, good quality towels, mitts, etc.

Just ordered 2 grit guards, foam gun, 2 microfiber sponges, waffle towel, leather conditioner. When I figure out what products to buy I will. Making sure I'm ready to go when the weather breaks.

It has its benefits and is effective for some applications but for the most part its a toy. Its fun to use though.

I thought my foam gun was one of my more dumb purchases. I used it once, it was kind of fun, gave the neighbors a good laugh, and then went back to the two bucket method. I found the soap dried on the car and it was just a pain to use. The kids love it to soap themselves up in the back yard now. Frankly in my opinion it is just a kids toy.

I still don't know how I ended up buying a Griot's Garage foamer.....my *** must of looked fat so i had to thin out my wallet??

I suppose, I spray down my car, then proceed to wash with wash mitt or a Montana boars hair brush??

Whenever I do conventional washes, I use the foam gun in place of the wash bucket. Foam the car, rinse, then I foam the mitt, foam panel, and then use a steady stream of foam from the gun in the path of the wash mitt. I feel that the constant flow of solution helps flush any dislodged contaminants, which would, potentially, mean less possibility of marring.

I love my foam gun. Nice thick layer of soap over the whole car, then wash and then rinse. You do have to be mindful of the possibility of the soap drying. IMO it saves time and effort.

I go panel by panel, similar to a two-bucket method.

Never tried panel by panel, but will give it a shot. In the spring and fall foaming the entire car isn't a problem but in the summer panel by panel might be the way to go.

Hmm, I tend to just use the regular soap, at regular dilution. If I foam the entire car, the foam pretty much all slides off in a minute or two.. I wouldnt be able to foam everything, and then get around to wash it all.

My choices for soap right now are Megs GC, CG Wash and Gloss, DG 901 and Majestic Solutions Ultra Gloss. I usually put bt 2-4 oz of soap in the gun with 4-6 oz of water and shake it up. Then put the setting on C and foam down, towards the end I use setting E and finish out the foam. Usually the foam is clingy and slides down slow.

I keep 2 wash pads in a bucket of clean water with 2 grit guards and start at the top and work my way down, swapping out pads every time I go back to the bucket. So far so good.
