  • Weird fluid stains

Hello all; in last few weeks I have been noticing some strange-looking water-type marks on my 2001 GM Holden Commodore. The colour is GM Heron White, apparently on this model it is a single stage non-clearcoat finish. As far as I am aware the paint is original. You name it I have tried it - various brands of polishes (incl. meguiars) of varying strength (from a polishing wax to a full-on cutting compound). Will take it to a detailer next - any thoughts on what mequiars product and application could get it off??

Are you working by hand or with a buffer of some sort?

Single stage white is some of the hardest paint you'll ever encounter because the pigment used is usually titanium dioxide - so you're basically trying to level that material when correcting below surface defects. That can be challenging even with a rotary buffer, let alone when working by hand.
