Because Meguiar's makes the best products! Seriously, just go and try it. You'll be happy you did.

I had used Mother`s products, years back. I made a switch to meguiars about 3 years ago. I mainly used the mirror glaze products, but have found that the new Ultimate line up is widely available and has GREAT results. You won`t be sorry you switched over.

Just off the top of my head as they say 1. Mothers dosen't have M105 or M205. 2. Nor do they have D300 and a Microfiber pad system. 3. I don't remember mothers having a AIO such as D151 4. Meguiars has a full line of foam pads and backing plates. I could go on and on but I think you'll see Meguiars has you covered on many more aspects of the detailing line then Mothers.

300C, we see you've made it from our Facebook page to our forum - welcome to MOL!!

It's one thing to ask us directly, as you did on FB, and we try real hard not to make our answer sound like a big sales pitch - anyone can do that. But the guys here are passionate about their cars and the cars they detail. And they're brutally honest - if we mess up they'll let us know. If they don't like one of our products, they'll let us know. So it's one thing for us to tell you why we're so good, but it's another thing entirely when our customers tell you.

Oh, don't forget to check out all the cars we've had the opportunity to correct at our Saturday Classes and Thursday Night Open Garage Sessions - we never know what's going to be thrown at us, but we're up for any challenge.

Rookies opinion; Yes you could buy other products that work well. Why wast your time and money experimenting with other products when Megs has a EXCELLENT line of products that work great and always improving. Been there, done that and why would you not learn from mine mistakes. LOL

I have used the Mother's clay kit, pretty good kit, worked great on my vehicles. Compared to the original Megs clay kit, it had more clay, but did not come with a sample size cleaner wax. Just a bottle of detail spray & MF cloth. It was on sale at Amazon for like $12 (a yr ago) so I gave it a try. The Megs clay kit has since increased the amount of clay you get. The Mother's kit is worth it

I have also used Mother's FX spray wax....to be honest, very compariable to Megs UQW, as the FX wax smells great too and protects just as long as UQW (though I apply either FX or UQW pretty much every other wash)....i bought a few of the Mother's FX spray wax on sale at Amazon for just $5.99 (a yr ago)....i also believe the bottle was larger than the Megs UQW....at the time UQW cost me like $8-9 a bottle. The Mothers FX spray wax is worth it as well.

Currently I only have one bottle of Mother FX spray wax, one bottle of Mothers detail spray, and about 5-6 bars of Mother yellow clay left in my arsenal.....the rest is Megs and a couple of items from Optimum.

Like all have mentioned, Megs offers pretty much everything you will likely need to keep your vehicle in top shape, you're in a Meguiars forum....so what kind of opinions did you expect? Lotsa good companies out there, good luck with your decision.

I used to be a huge Mother's fan. Their stuff is good, no doubt about it. I got converted to Meguiar's innocently enough. I tried one Meg's product and loved it. After that, it was just a progression. Every time I tried another Meguiar's product, I found it worked that much better than the Mother's equivalent. Now I'm at the point that I use Meguiar's only.

Why you should switch to Meguiars. Because they stand behind what they sell. If your not satisfied with a Meguiars product, they will gladly
replace it, refund it, or send you a Meguiars product of your choice. Good luck finding that kind of customer care anymore.
I've been using Meguiars for over 25 years and nothing else touches my Vehicles and Harleys.

Why? You should answer that. No one needs to change your mind. If you want to change then change, if not then don't. We all have many different reasons why we use what we use.

While I am a complete newbie in the detail world, I will use no other product(s) except Meguiars. It started out innocently enough with a simple can of A12. I achieved some great results by hand but was still looking for more. After watching almost all of the Meguiars how-to videos on Youtube I stumbled upon MOL. Imagine that, an entire forum dedicated to the brand. Since then I have bought a ton of Meguiars products and each product works as stated. And even better, if I have a question or problem about a situation or product I have this entire forum ready to help. 100% Meguiars here!!

Why? hmm, well honestly, I say because I just like Meguiars more. I have only used Mothers very few times and while they worked okay I felt I was putting more effort into getting the same result. That said, I use the pro line now and only have a few OTC Meg's products so my perspective is skewed a bit.
