Hi guys , ive got a question my boss purchased a new 2011 civic at the dealer they told him they gave the paint some type of treatment he would not have to wash the car with soap ever, i told him that he would have to use car wash at least to get all the dirt off but he again said that it would void the warranty. can anyone tell me if This is true or are they just making this up. thanks in advance Joe.

I have heard that BMW does that sort of thing to buy can't recall the name of the product. It was some crazy amount to have it done. One of my coworkers recently bought a new BMW an mentioned it to me. Still think its a good way for stupid people to lose money.

I totally agree, i think it was a little over a thousand dollars to do it and he is a slob and doesnt take care of his cars so i guess he got sold on it.

well you don't need soap to wash a car. try a waterless or a rinseless wash like ONR. thats not soap.

any sort of paint treatment a dealer trys to sale you say no. they will sell you factor sealant that they claim will last 10 years and charge you a grand. its a scam. if you want protection just get an over the counter wax/selant for 15 bucks and do it yourself four times a year. collnite 845 or 3m performance finish are both great and last 4-6months.

if you are serious about long term protection then get opti coat 2.0 or c.quartz. its like an additionally layer clear coat that protects your car for 2-5 years.
