3-M has a three product 3M Perfect-It series with bottles labeled 1, 2, 3. What Meguiar's products are similar to that series?

David, you're too experience not to know.

As I don't know 3Ms' product aggressiveness here are some Meguiar's options:

Option 1: DC1 Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner/ DC2 Deep Crystal Paint Polish/ DC3 Deep Crystal Carnauba Wax
Option 2: 2012 products: Rubbing Compound/ Polishing Compound/ finishing wax
    Option 3: M105/ M205/ M21 or M26
Option 4: Ultimate Compound/ Ultimate Polish/ Ultimate Wax
    Option 5: D300/ D301 (2 steps finishing like 3 steps)

All Meguiar's products are compatible with each other so there are no worries if one can go after the other.
Only sealants and hybrid waxes require 12-24 hour period for full bonding before applying a second coat.

Thanks Greg, what I should know and what I know seem to be miles apart some days!

I'm being pressured, let me rephrase, gently persuaded, to start using a rotary and some 3M products. I'm trying to assure this client I can provide equal and better (IMHO) results with products and processes I'm familiar. The clear coat is freshly sanded and after working it to an initial shine, it is very delicate. So I'm thinking M105 on a MF cutting pad, SwirlX on a polishing pad, then Ultimate Polish also on a polishing pad. All subject to a successful test spot and client review. No rotary or 3M required.

      Thanks for the clarification.

        Got it.

Test spot(s) will be helpful for sure.
I really like M205 after M105. You could even use M205 twice: polishing pad - compound side effect removal, finishing pad - final gloss.

I'm sure that after testing you'll find the best combo for that paint.
