  • really really simple/noob Question about dispenser bottle

    Hi guys,

I've bought some meguiars m9912 however the top seems to be blocked. I was just wondering how do you "open" it. Do you guys cut the top or poke a hole?

    Thanks,
    Jason

Isn't that one of the 'flip top' bottles? Just take the top off and wash it out. You removed the seal on it didn't you?

The main site is down, so I don't have a pic to look at...just guessing.

Oh...you meant a 'real dispenser bottle'! I was thinkin' original product bottle.

Just take the top off and clean it out, if there isn't a hole in it...well you get the picture (where are the smilies when you want them?).

You can just snip the tippy top off to expose a sized hole to your satisfaction. Like when you cut the tip off a caulking tube, little off=little caulk, big chunk off=lotza caulk (also a mess...LOL). Just start with a small hole first (that's bad experience talking there).

Like Bill said, snip it to match your needs. Different products and processes have different flow/volume requirements.

A very thin product like a dressing or a solvent only needs a smaller orifice but something thick, like D151 Paint Reconditioning Cream, needs a bigger hole to be useful.

The types of jobs you do play into it too. If you're mostly dressing the tires on a Civic you'll probably need to re-calibrate when switching to a Peterbilt.
