  • BP and Foam Pad

i know this is not meguiar, but really seek for advice from experts here in meguiar...

i currently use 6" BP and use 6,5" of lake country pad...
is this combination is good enough for most detailing job, especially for cleaning ( normal paint, light to moderate swirls )

or if it's better if i use 5" BP with 5,5" pad for most of the job ? thanks for the advice

and BTW, can i use megs MF system to remove sanding mark ? i read many success stories with DA,M105 and surbuf pad to remove sanding mark, i think this MF system will do better, am i correct ? thanks

    Re: BP and Foam Pad

Your choice of backing plate and pad should be fine, depending on what liquid you use with them, how fast you run the buffer, and the rest of your technique. Paint hardness is going to play a role, no doubt, but if you dial in your technique we don't see a problem at all.

Whether or not our DA Microfiber System will remove sanding marks will also depend on a lot of variables. If you're going to wet sand and want to use that system to remove the sanding marks, we would recommend refining you sanding down to 3000 grit if at all possible. Even then, hardness of the paint will, as always, play a huge role here. Just keep in mind that the system is not designed to accomplish this task, so even if you're reading cases of people having success doing so, it may not work equally well for you.
